Mike Conrad is an award-winning composer/arranger currently serving as Assistant Professor of Jazz Studies at the University of Northern Iowa.
In addition to jazz festival appearances at the Umbria Jazz Festival, the Twin Cities Jazz Festival, the Iowa City Jazz Festival, the UNC/Greeley Jazz Festival, and the Rochester International Jazz Festival, Conrad has enjoyed playing and/or recording with the Bob Washut Dodectet, Christopher’s Very Happy. Band., the Max Wellman Big Band, and many other groups.
He founded the Iowa Jazz Composers Orchestra, which recorded his Fertile Soil Suite in 2021, and is excited to be releasing his first trio album, Reconnect, in the summer of 2022.
